Greetings

Hello Fellow Bloggers,

This is my initial entry on my blog on basketball history, which is one of my true passions in life. I enjoy the game of basketball at all levels, but I truly enjoy talking about the history of the game. Here in St. Louis, where I reside. I have been covering high school basketball in the St. Louis area for the past 22 years.
This blog is dedicated to the history of basketball in st. louis. this is your opportunity to come on board and tell me some of your great memories of great players and teams from the past. If there is an athlete or team in another sport that you might want to discuss, have at it. We'll have a good time.
After 20 years of covering local hoops (in 2007), I wrote an 80-page tabloid celebrating my 20 years of covering high school basketball in St. Louis. To get an idea of how consumed I can be with prep basketball history. In this publication, I put together 20-year anniversary all-star teams for every boys and girls team in the St. Louis metro area. It was a labor of love, but it was fun to put together.
The following year, I wrote a book on the history of basketball in the St. Louis Public High League. I had a wonderful time writing this book because I got a chance to talk to all of the great players and coaches from the PHL and share some great stories of the past. I followed up with a DVD on the Public High League where I was able to find rare footage of these players going all the way back to the 1940's.
These publications are available on my website, www.earlaustinjr.com.
Look forward to some lively discussions.
